Our Lady’s Fish Fry Meeting: There will be a meeting on Tuesday, January 10th, at 6:30 PM in the parish social hall. In case of bad weather, we will meet on the 11th, at the same time.) We will be planning and organizing for the upcoming LentenFishFry. The first fish fry will be Friday, February 24th. Anyone who is interested in volunteering is asked to attend. If you want to volunteer, but cannot make the meeting, please notify the parish office. (717 453-7895) Because we have not had a fish fry since March 2020 it will be more challenging to plan, and get organized. Also, we lost some key people who played an important role in making the fish fry a successful event.
Each fish fry requires volunteers over a three-day period. Thursday mornings are food prep, and that normally runs from 9 to 10:30 AM. Also, on Thursday evening fish is cut, and that takes about an hour. Friday is the fish fry and we usually need 15 or 16 people, and the hours are 2:30 to 7:30. (Not everyone needs to be there by 2:30.) Saturday morning is clean up and that takes two people about two hours. Details of what needs to be done each day will be discussed, and how best to get the job done.
Although we have a core group of volunteers, additional helpers are needed. and appreciated. If we have more than adequate help, we can set up a schedule, so people do not need to work every week.
We hope to have a good turnout so we can continue this important parish fund raiser. Together we can share our time, and talent for the benefit of the church family.
