Each year during the month of October, we recommit ourselves to the establishment of a culture of Life and to do all we can in prayer (especially the Rosary), in word and in action to protect and defend the lives of all, especially the most vulnerable among us.
We begin always with prayer, at daily Mass (if we can attend), in our own private prayers. May I offer you the following to help you in your fervent plea for life and your desire to protect and defend the innocent baby in the womb, the person near to death and everyone in between.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, Lord and Maker of all that is good, fill our hearts with joy before the wonders of Your creation. Open our eyes to the presence of Your beloved Son Jesus in all those we encounter and especially in the weakest and most vulnerable among us.
Where we see life threatened at its beginning or at its end or by poverty and deprivation, inspire us with love and mercy so that, empowered by Your Holy Spirit, we may work together to defend human dignity. Help us to build a culture of life: a culture in which each and every person is loved and valued as our child, from conception to natural death, and in every circumstance of life.
Bless us as we turn to You, that our prayer will be fruitful in protecting the vulnerable babies who are carried here in the womb. We pray for their mommies and daddies that they will recognize the great miracle that has happened in their lives and be given the support they need to bring that child into the world that You have given us. We ask all of this in the Name and in the power of Jesus, Our Redeemer and Lord of Life, forever and ever. Amen.
God Bless you and have a great and holy week!
